PRESENT: B. Young, Mayor, 1. Brigham, W. Mays, Mayor Pro Tern, U. Bridges,
members, A. Cheek, B. Kuhlke, Commissioner, N. Morawski, Deputy Clerk of
Commission.
ALSO PRESENT: S. Cooper, Augusta Chronicle, S. Eidson, Metro Spirit.
ABSENT: H. Brigham, Commissioner.
Mr. Brigham: I think we need to do a couple of things. First, we were asked to
add another resume to the list. And that is Christine Harding, George Sanken was also
added. I would like to ask for a motion from the Committee that anybody we consider
for this position already be a full time lobbyist and registered with the State of Georgia.
Mr. Bridges: So move.
Motion failed for lack of a second.

Mr. Brigham: Let's say we go ahead and try and set up interviews with these three
people while we're in Atlanta. Ifwe can reach a consensus with the people that are there
to go ahead and hire somebody while we're there authorize the Mayor to set it up and go
ahead and negotiate a contract. Ifwe can't reach a consensus just bring it back and
discuss it further here.
Mr. Bridges: In the interim, it might be a good idea if we designate Walter
Hornsby as our legislative contact until such time as the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tern can
agree on a lobbyist.
Mr. Brigham: Lets not do anything in the Commission meeting today. We have
the field narrowed down to three. Let the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tern meet with them
and not pursue anything until after this Legislative session and try to have a lobbyist in
place by July 1 so we can look at the next Legislative session.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
