REAL ESTATE MEETING
COMMITTEE ROOM
November 20,2001
I
PRESENT: Hons. Colclough, J. Brigham, Mays, Kuhlke, H. Brigham, Shepard,
Beard, Cheek, Williams and Bridges, Commissioners; Jim Wall, Attorney; George Kolb,
At1mini.trator; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission.
Mr. Wall: I have two real estate items. The first is to acquire about eight acres
for the Greenspace Program. This is Jimmy Davidson's property along Rae's Creek at
Berckman Road and Ingleside Drive. You authorized us to get it appraised and the
appraised value was $120,000. I've had some conversation with Jimmy Davidson and
his attorney and they didn't think: it was enough. I've gotten a reco=endation that we
should not approve it because it would deplete the monies that are available and it only
meets four of the nine Greenspace goals. The appraisal is as high as it is because there
are four buildable lots in that tract.
After further discussion, it was the consensus that Mr. Wall go back and look at
the assessed value and offer him the assessed value.
I
Mr. Wall: The second item is on Butler Creek. There are 3 Y, acres along the
creek that have been identified and we have a contract subject to your approval for
$11,500. It adjoins the Boy Scout property and we would like to add it to the agenda. It
has been appraised by Jack Minor and the appraised value is $3,500 an acre which is
$12,250 so you're getting it for less than the appraised value.
It was the consensus of the Commission that this be added to the agenda.
Mr. Williams asked about the status of the house on Grand Boulevard. Mr. Wall
stated that they had agreed on a value for the property and that the estate needed to be
probated so that title could be cleared and conveyed. Mr. Williams asked that the matter
be checked into. He also asked about the survey that was needed for the Apple Valley
property. Mr. Wall said that he would check into it and be sure that the City was
protected as far as the contract was concerned.
Mr. Wall stated that on the Willis Foreman Road fire station the Fire Department
was going to get the survey done by the company who had the architectural contract.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
