PRESENT: Hons. Mays, Chairman; Bridges, Co-Chairman and Acting
Chairman; Kuhlke, member; George Kolb, Administrator; Jim Wall, Attorney; Tom
Beck, Recreation Dept. Director; Stewart Walker, License & Inspections Dept.; Lena
Bonner, Clerk of Co=ission.
ABSENT: Hon. Colclough, member.
Also Present: Hons. Williams and Hankerson, Commissioners.
CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:
1. Motion to renew the Sec. 5311 Rural Transit grant application between the
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Augusta, Georgia.
3. Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between Augusta Housing
Authority and Augusta Richmond County Recreation and Parks for Summer
Youth Program funded by the Housing Authority and implemented by the
Recreation Department in the amount of $35,000.00.

Motion to approve Bid Item # 03-074 for $27,813.95 to Contract Connection
as the low bidder to meet specifications.
Mr. Kuhlke: I so move.
Mr. Chairman: Second.
Motion adopted unammously.
4. New Application: A.N.03-17: A request by Felipe Mata for an on premise
consumption Liquor, Beer & Wine license to be used in connection with
Milusos, Inc. DBA Teresa's Mexican Restaurant located at 4104 Windsor
Spring Road. There will be Sunday sales. District 6. Super District 10.
Mr. Mata: Felipe Mata, 2209 WoodbluffWay, Augusta, Ga.
Mr. Walker: The License & Inspections Department and the Sheriff's
Department have reviewed and approved this. There are no objectors.
Mr. Chairman: I move for approval.
Mr. Kuhlke: Second.

New Ownership: A.N.03-18: A request by Olanrewaju Johnson for a retail
package Beer & Wine license to be used in connection with Milestone Gas
located at 3232 Deans Bridge Rd. District 5. Super District 9.

Ms. Johnson: Olanrewaju Johnson, 2922 Ridge Brook Trail, Duluth, Ga.
Mr. Walker: The License & Inspection Department and Sheriff's Department
have reviewed and approved this. There are no objectors.
Mr. Kuhlke: I so move.
Mr. Chairman: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
2. Discussion of Savannah Place Park Renovations Project. (Requested by
Commissioner Williams)
Mr. Williams: What time frame are we looking at to begin this?
Mr. Beck: If we get out to bid on June 9 with a 3D-day bidding period, we should
be able to open bids around the second week in July.
After further discussion, Mr. Kuhlke: I move that we receive this as information.

Mr. Chairman: Second and if we could as a friendly amendment looking at the
funding that is there is District 2 that has been established and possibly put on hold, that
we can look at that also when the numbers and costs come back.
Mr. Kuhlke: That's [me.
Motion adopted unanimously.
7. Discuss increasing penalties and suspensions for alcohol sales to minors.
(Requested by Commissioner Hankerson).
Mr. Chairman: I think we're going to need a sub-committee to look at this and
move forward with it.
(The Chairman leaves the meeting)
Mr. Hankerson: I'm very concerned about the repeated violations of sales to
minors and I've asked the attorney to draw up a resolution outlining the penalties for such
violations.

Mr. Bridges: Since we only have two members present, we will bring this back at
the next co=ittee meeting and review it in the meantime.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
