Oliver, Administrator; J. Wall, Attorney; R. Sherman, 1. Harris, S. Walker, L&I; R. Berry, Sheriffs Dept; H. Johnson, Transit Director; J. Lewis; T. Beck, Recreation Director; 1. Bonner, Clerk of Commission. ABSENT: B. Young, Mayor. ALSO PRESENT: S. Cooper, Augusta Chronicle; S. Eidson, Metro Spirit. A motion to approve Affidavit, Release and Assignment in favor of United Pacific Insurance Company of claims under its bond with J&G Construction Company in consideration of payment of $20,804.59. I Mr. Wall: You may recall that the contractor for the maintenance building at the golf course defaulted and we called upon the bonding company to come in and they agreed, Bill Hargrove to handle the subcontractor, etc., it was necessary to complete it. That has now been completed and the bonding company has tendered $20,804.59, which is the difference between the original contract price and the total amount that we paid out. They will remain obligated on the one year warranty that J&G Construction was obligated on under its contractual agreement. This is a release of the bonding company except as to that warranty and an assignment of a claim so that they can go against J &G Construction or whoever else may have guaranteed that bond. I recommend approval. Mr. Kuhlke: So move. Mr. Colclough: Second. Motion carried unanimously. New Ownership: A.N. 99-57: Consider a request by Joseph H. So what we thought about this year is, Mayor Monday and a free Friday. I spoke with the Mayor and the intent on that was to let him select one bus to ride on and no one would know and the bus that he rides on we will give the people on that bus a pass to ride for one month, up to fifty people. We also received a suggestion that we change free Friday to no money Monday and they could ride free on Monday and that would intice some people to ride for the rest of the week. We have approval from the Federal Transit Administration and I've sent the State of Georgia a letter with a recommendation for an amount. This agenda item is just so that once we get the letter back from the States saying what their share would be if the CVB is willing to pay that price then we can transfer the vehicle over, if not, we will sell those vehicles at the regular auction. We feel that with all the activity that we have going on there that this is a good investment. The School Board has used several of the same type floors in their gyms. This comes with a one-year installation warranty from Bonitz, it also comes with a ten year labor and material warranty. We recommend approval. Mr. Colclough: So move. Mr. Kuhlke: Second.
