Oliver, Administrator; J. Wall, Legal Counsel; S. Walker & L. Harris, License & Inspection, T. Beck, Recreation. ALSO PRESENT : Sylvia Cooper, Augusta Chronicle; Stacy Eidson, Metro Spirit; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission and Belinda Brown of the Clerk's Office. New Ownership: Consider a request by Michael Schepis consumption on premise liquor, beer & wine license to be connection with The Modjeska located at 811 Broad Street. for a used in Mr. Schepis: Michael Schepis, 307 Tenth Street. Mr. Walker: This is for the Modjeska Theater located at 811 Broad Street. This applicant meets all requirements of the License Department and the Sheriff's Department and we recommend approval. (No obj ectors) MR. TODD: So move. MR. KUHLKE: Second. Motion carried unanimously. A request from the Recreation Director to approve and award the purchase and installation of a multi-unit play system at Elliott Park to Dominica Recreation Products, Inc. in the amount of $29,880.00. Mr. Beck: This is our recommendation to approve Dominica Recreation for a new playground, which is part of the SPLOST renovations at Elliott Park on Lumpkin Road. We had six bids and Dominica Recreation was the best bid. This includes installation and surfacing for the playground. MR. KUHLKE: So move. MR. TODD: Second. Motion carried unanimously. A request to approve and award new telescopic bleachers for the Belle Terrace Community Center to the low bidder, H. E. Hodge Company, in the amount of $22,265.00. Mr. Beck: When we built the gymnasium in 1990 we put in just I regular five row ~ortable bleachers in the gYm. As part of the improved renovation plan for Belle Terrace for 1998 part of our program was to put in new telescopic bleachers, which means the type that can come in and out from the wall, so you can have that additional floor space for other activities. MR. TODD: So move. MR. KUHLKE: Second. Motion carried unanimously. A request to approve and award gym floor refinishing projects at May Park and Bernie Ward Community Centers to the low bidder, Bennett Flooring Company, in the amount of $21,807.00 Mr. Beck: This is a combination bid to refinish the gYm floors at both facilities. This is the first time since they were built in 1978 that we have redone the floors. MR. TODD: So move. MR. KUHLKE: Second. I Motion carried unanimously.
