Williams, Chairman; Boyles, Co-Chainnan; Sims and Beard, members; Steve Shepard, Attorney; Fred Russell, Deputy Administrator; Errick Thompson, Public Works Asst. Director; Nancy Morawski, Deputy Clerk of Commission. ABSENT: Hon. Bob Young, Mayor. Also Present: Hons. Cheek and Colclough, Commissioners. The Deputy Clerk: We have one addendum item. It was the consensus of the committee that this item be added. 1. Request for approval of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG) application for Richmond County Juvenile Court and The Children and Youth Coordinating Council (CYCe). Mr. Boyles: I move for approval. Ms. Sims: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. 2. Motion to approve purchase of one new thermal imaging camera for Battalion Chief Command Car #904. Ms. Sims: I so move. Ms. Beard: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. 3. Motion to approve the purchase of two sets of Hurst "Jaws of Life" extrication systems. Ms. Sims: A motion to approve. Ms. Beard: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. Addendum Item 1. Discuss safety problems regarding the situation of Mrs. Ruby Johnson of Railroad Street. (Requested by Commissioner Boyles) 1 Mr. Boyles: Mrs. Johnson has a problem in front of her home as shown in these pictures I have. It is both an eyesore and a safety hazard and I wonder if there is something we could do. I Mr. Chairman: That has been an ongoing problem and those barriers are there to keep someone from running off the road. Mr. Cheek: That has been discussed but I believe it has been on hold due to some funding issues. Mr. Thompson: We need additional funds to get this project constructed and we also have a right of way issue with the Norfolk Southern Railroad. We need to access their property to make the repairs on the slope which involves some coordination with the activities on the yard. Mr. Boyles: I make the motion that we report back in two weeks at our next meeting. Ms. Sims: Second. Mr. Cheek: Ifwe could information on percent of design complete, total cost of the project, funded amount and anticipated construction time. Motion adopted unanimously.
