to the full Commission for review.

Mr. Williams: So move for approval.
Mr. Brigham: Second.
Motion carried unanimously.
Recognition of Capt. Richard Burts as Firefighter of the Year by the Exchange Club.
I
Mr. Beard: I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Cap!. Burts as
Firefighter of the Year by the Exchange Club. I thought it was proper that we recognize
him here first and ask him to come back on Wednesday to be recognized by the full
Commission.
I
Parking restrictions around U.S. Courthouse.
Mr. Wall: This is a request to approve authorizing the Sheriff to redistrict parking
in and around the U.S. Courthouse to parking by permits issued by U.S. District Court.
This would include the south side of Telfair Street, west side of 8th Street, Walker Street
and east and west sides of Ford Street. Because of security concerns, the U.S. District
Court has requested that parking in and around the U.S. Courthouse be by permit only.
The Court on an as needed basis would issue the permit. This would allow the Court to
have control and know who was parking in the immediate vicinity of the Courthouse.
Adoption of the Ordinance would authorize the Sheriff to post the areas designated by the
Court and to tow any vehicles that were not properly permitted for using the parking
places.
Mr. Brigham: I move we forward this to the full Commission with no
recommendation.
Mr. Beard: Second.
Motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
