(Danny Craig is in agreement with this) Ms. Joiles: These monies come out of the 5% VictimsIWitness program monies. I came earlier this year with a request for funding for Safe Homes, Rape Crisis and for the Child Advocacy Center three certified agencies. At that time Safe Homes was working on a project that we were not fuily ready.to begin, a Batters Intervention Program which is through the criminal justice system. Criminal defendants pay for this, so there is no cost to the taxpayers. It comes out of the 5% monies. Safe Homes wiil be piloting this program under their umbrella. I spoke with Danny Craig about it and he wiil also be a monitor of this money and he is also in favor of the program. I did ask for this to be effective January 1,2002, but after more thought, I would like to change the effective date to November 1,2001. Mr. Shepard: I would like to move for approval. I Mr. Brigham: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Approval of funds to hire a Domestic Violence Prosecution Attorney effective January 1, 2002. Mr. Williams: So move for approval. Mr. Shepard: Second. Mr. Brigham: My understanding is, this is more than just landscaping. This is actually the architectural fee for the building of the Fire Departments. This is not just landscaping this is also providing all the civil work, design and the building itself? Mr. Acree: Yes sir, Mr. Brigham. Let me correct that. It should read the architectural design and the site design for the structures. Motion carried unanimously. Approve application for Grant to continue funding of Mobile Data Terminals in the Sherifrs Office. Mr. Shepard: So move for approval. Mr. Brigham: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Approve purchase of three workstations and a new printer for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) staff using approved SPLOST funds. Mr. Brigham: So move for approval. Mr. Shepard: Second.
