Mays, A. Cheek, H. Brigham, R. Colclough, Connissioners; G. Kolb, Administrator, V.
Flournoy, Staff Attorney; P. Wasson 911 Director, L. Bonner, Clerk of Commission.
MEDIA: N. Coleman, Metro Courier, G. Eskola, Channel 6.
Motion to approve grants/gifts to the following Community Support Agencies:
Child Enrichment/Augusta Child Advocacy $5,000
Rape Crisis $2,500
Domestic Violence Intervention $5,000
Ms. Jolly: We need to delete the term gifts because this a re-grant out of the 5%
Victirns/Witness Fund money that was collected from defendants fines from Richmond,
Columbia and Burke counties. We need to change the amount to $25,000 that is listed
for the Rape Crisis. Sexual Assault Services that is the same amount that they were
granted last year.
Mr. Shepard: I move approval as recommended by the Solicitor in the
meeting today as amending the amounts that she stated and characterizing them all
as re-grants.
Mr. Williams: Second.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion to enter into nondisclosure agreement with Sprint PCS.
Mr. Shepard: So move.
Mr. Brigham: Second.
Motion carried unanimously
Discuss requirement for a Community Emergency Notification System and approve
EMA recommendations to implement an affordable, effective and efficient system
throughout Augusta Richmond County.
The Committee received a report from the EMA Director, 911 Director and the
Interim Fire Chief regarding a recent release of chemicals.
Mr. Shepard: I would like to make a motion that we have a training plan
concept put together under the office of our EMA Director and let him include the
appropriate affected agencies, Fire, Police and 911. Also, that he bring back
financial estimates on the Community Emergency Notification System.
Mr. Brigham: Second.

6. Arimini<trative Assistant II, Grade 43 (Public Relations) to a Library
Assistant II, Grade 39 (Branch Substitute)
7. Library Assistant ill, Grade 31 (Children's Dept.) to a Library Assistant IT,
