Bonner, Clerk of Commission. ., MEDlA: H. Coryell, Augusta Chronicle. Clerk: We have one addendum item. Authorize settlement of claim of AT &T'foli~ng di~nce service during prior years for $25,000 (?) and authorize payment. /' Mr. Shepard: So move to add and approve. Mr. Brigham: Second. Motion carried unanimously. [' I Motion to approve lease server for Law Enforcement C~S system. Mr. Shepard: So move. Mr. Brigham: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Communication from Denise Hocker, President of Brentwood Neighborhood Association, regarding a home located at 2829 Brentway Drive. (Referred from Commission meeting January 16,2001) A delegation appeared before the Committee to address concerns regarding public safety issues relative to an EOA transitional home located at 2829 BrentwayDrive. Mr. Shepard: So move to receive this communication as information. Mr. Williams: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Approve Mutual Aid Agreement between Augusta Richmond County Fire Department and Grovetown Department of Public Safety. I Mr. Williams: So move for approval and ask that the Chief review all mutual aid agreements. Mr. Shepard: Second. I Motion carried unanimously. " e. Permit the Department of Animal Control to change hours of shelter operation. Dr. Bragdon: We would like to change the hours the shelter is open to the public. Changing the hours would allow public access to services at more convenient times. It would also allow us to perform certain shelter functions more discretely such as vaccinations and other testing. Furthermore, revellUe1may incJi~e if the public is allowed more convenient times to adopt and pick up lo;;t pets Mr. Brigham: So move. Mr. Shepard: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Authorize the Department of Animal Control to charge reasonable fees for services in the event an animal placed for adoption is reclaimed by its owner. Dr. Bragdon: County law mandates the shelter hold an iinpounded animal 5 days before placing for adoption. If the owner does not reclaim the animal in that time period. the shelter may place the animal for adoption. Before being offered to the public for adoption the shelter vaccinates and tests the animal at a cost either to the department or at a cost to the donation fund. Should the owner reclaim the animal once placed for adoption, the department should charge the owner reasonable fees for services provided by the department. I .' ., Mr. Brigham: So move. Mr. Shepard: Second. Motion carried unanimously. Approve the substitution of an IBM Model 820 for an IBM Model 720 and allow New World Systems to retain the rebate in the amount of $5,200. Mr. Hewitt: New World Systems signed a contract with Augusta Richmond County to provide an IBM Model 720 for the Sheriffs Office. New World was not able to secure the 720 by the date in the contract. A model 820 was substituted and was received within the specified contract time line. The 720 processor is approximately 50% I faster and will provide further expansion for the Sheriffs Office. New World Systems I absorbed $17,500 additional cost to provide a system within tlie contract time line. If the rebate is given to New World the total expense to New World Systems will be $12,300 Mr. Shepard: Move approval. Mr. Brigham: So move. Motion carried unanimously.
