Mr. Zetterberg: Second. Mr. Mayor: Since we GA., effective July 30, Enforcement Center. will be going back to the name Augusta, do we need to have that Joint Law Mr. Oliver: Change it to, Augusta Joint Law Enforcement Center and under owner, Augusta Commission. Motion adopted unanimously. A request from the Coalition for Concerned Citizens Committee for a two street name change. Mr. H. Brigham: When the reverend came to me an talked about ,it, I told him to bring it here for discussion, and see what the legal requirements are for a name change. Elder W. Al. Ferguson: This is in regards to the UNITED HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL PEOPLE, in honoring our Bishop and his wife. His wife, Deloris Madison, was born in Augusta and partly raised on Mill St. We are requesting that Mill St to Florence St., be renamed in her honor, Deloris Madison, road, street or avenue. And in honoring our Bishop, we are requesting that Wrightsboro Rd., to 9th St., or from 12th St., to B. L. Dent Blvd., where the railroad tracks cross over on Wrightsboro Rd., be changed to S. C. Madison, road, street, or avenue. We have gone out in the community and the I concensus reveals that we wouldn't have many objectors to that name -- change. Mr. Kuhlke: We are talking about two changes, one is for the Bishops wife and the other is for the Bishop. The problem we ran into last time, is we didn't know who the street was originally named for. I don't have any problem with it, provided there is not some long standing family that these streets were named for and that they may come back and object to it. Can you could get us some background on the streets that you are asking us to rename. Elder Ferguson: Yes sir. We will check that out, however, I don't foresee any problems with the areas. Mr. Mayor: You may want to get Mr. Patty, at Planning and Zoning to go back and research this and go back a little farther than he did last time. .Mr. Kuhlke: I would like to make a motion that we accept this as information and we add it to our agenda for the next Committee Meeting . Mr. Zetterberg: Second. Mr. Oliver: Augusta. And I'll send it to Mr. Patty and Historic I Motion adopted unanimously. ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
