Communication from the Central Services Director requesting
approval of a change order from K & W Mechanical Systems in the
amount of $3,989.95 for heating, ventilation and air conditioning
system at the Mental Retardation Center, was read.
Mr. Johnson: This unit had several things wrong with it.
It was poorly put together by a company out of town and now we
have it back up and running and we need to pay this. It was
undersized for the unit.
It was the consensus of the Committee that this be referred
to the Commission-Council due to the lack of a quorum.
The Committee next heard an update from the Human Resources
Director regarding Augusta-Richmond County firefighters pay
equalization.
Mr. Etheridge: We are in the process of doing this. Salary
equalization will not actually happen. What we are going to do
is eliminate the disparities that exist between salaries and we
are working on that now. We will make a report when we are
finished.
Mr. Chairman: If we could have an update in the May
meeting, that would be good.
Mr. Wall: Does the Jail construction in both places fall
under Public Safety or Engineering Services Committee?
After a short discussion, it was determined that this would
fall under the Public Safety Committee.
ADJOURNMENT:
was adjourned.
There being no further business, the meeting
