1. Provide Finance Committee and Public Safety Committee with information
regarding status of construction of new facility for Animal Control.
2. Consider a request from the Asociacion Cultural HispanoAmericana regarding
City sponsorship of their activities and association.
3. Consider a request from the Augusta Richmond County Civic Center regarding
the purchase of a table in the amount of $160.00 ($20.00 per ticket) for the Third
Annual African American Philharmonic Orchestra Concert.
4. Request from the Tax Commissioner's Office to abate account charged in error.
5. Refund of 2000 taxes in the amount of$142.99 on business account #2005368.
6. Refund of 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 taxes paid 'in error in the amount of
$1,232.08 to Walden Hall Christian Montessori School, account #1270488.

Refund of 2000 taxes paid in error in the amount of$138.60 to Governor's Place
Apartments, account #2035631.

Approve the renewal lease of Two (2) 40 Ton Articulated Dump Trucks for
Public Works - Solid Waste Division for 36 months from Burch Lowe Company
of Augusta, Georgia for $65,316.00 each per year (lowest bid offer on Bid 01-
179).
9. Consider a request from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for City
sponsorship/participation in the purchase of tickets for the Fifth Annual Unity
Breakfast.
10. Consider a request from the Paine CollegelUnited Negro College Fund for City
sponsorship in the purchase of a table at a cost of $500 or individual tickets at a
cost of $50 per person for the Second Annual Masked Ball.

Administrator; Vanessa Flournoy, Staff Attorney; Teresa Smith, Public Works Director;
Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission.
Also Present: Stacey Eidson of The Metropolitan Spirit, Hons. Colclough and
Cheek, Commissioners and Hons. Boyles and Hankerson, Commissioners-Elect.

Request from the Tax Commissioner's Office to abate account charged in

Mr. Chairman: On requests such as this we have agreed to purchase individual
tickets for any Commissioner who wishes to attend an event and that is what we would
do in these cases.

Addendum Item 1. Presentation by the Executive Director of the Augusta Museum
of History.
Mr. Bridges: I move we add it.
Mr. Williams: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
At this time Mr. Scott Loehr from the Augusta Museum of History made a
presentation requesting funding for the Museum.
After a short discussion regarding how funding for the Augusta Museum of
History and the Lucy Craft Laney Museum might be obtained, Mr. Bridges: I move that
we ask the Administrator to bring back to the full Commission some recommendations
for the funding of both museums.
Mr. Williams: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.

Consider a request from the Asociacion Cultural HispanoAmericana

regarding City sponsorship of their activities and association.
At this time two representatives from the Asociac~on Cultural HispanoAmericana
appeared before the Committee and requested funding in the amount of $5,000 for the
activities of their Association.
Mr. Bridges: I make the motion that we receive this as information.
Mr. H. Brigham: I would second it if we could extend to them the same
privileges as other organizations where we purchase tickets to various events.
Motion adopted unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
