PRESENT: Hons. Bob Young, Mayor; Bridges, Chairman; Beard and 1.
Brigham, members; Harrison Sears, Tax Assessor; Jim Wall, Attorney; Lon Morrey,
Comptroller; Walter Hornsby, Asst. Administrator; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission
and Nancy Morawski, Deputy Clerk of Commission.
ABSENT: Hon. Henry Brigham, Vice-Chairman.
Also Present: George Eskola ofWJBF Television, Stacey Eidson of The
Metropolitan Spirit and Hon. Colclough, Commissioner.
The Clerk: We have one item to add concerning funding for the Georgia Games.
Mr. Mayor: And we need to delete Item #5 because we have a company who is
going to pay for this.
Mr. Beard: I so move.

Motion adopted unanimously.
A request to approve a refund of 1997 taxes in the amount of $1,460.17 to W.
A. Schweitzer for overpayment of taxes on Map 36-1, Parcel 169, was read.
A request to approve a refund of 1996 taxes in the amount of $258.10 to
Herman Parker for overpayment of taxes on Map 55-2, Parcel 7, was read.
Mr. Beard: I so move.
Mr. 1. Brigham: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
A f'equest to fix and publish qualifying fees for Municipal offices, was read.
Mr. 1. Brigham: I so move.
Mr. Beard: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.

A request to consider funding in the amount of $1,000 from "Commission
Other" account for sponsorship of the Annual Legislative Barbecue to be held
February 4, 1999, was read.
Mr. 1. Brigham: I move we approve this.
Mr. Beard: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
A request to participate in the cost of publication of a newspaper supplement
in the amount of $15,000 to promote the Georgia Games across the state, was read.
Mr. Mayor: We have been asked to participate in the sponsorship of this
supplement which will be in the Sunday newspapers in a number of cities and will reach
a circulation of 1.3 million to publicize the Games.
Mr. Chairman: Have you identified a funding source? Lon, do you have a
suggestion?
Mr. Morrey: I would have to look since this is the first I've heard of it.
Mr. 1. Brigham: I'll move we approve this and suggest contingency if we cannot
find another source.
Mr. Beard: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

3. Fix and publish qualifying fees for Municipal offices.
4. Consider funding in the amount of$I,OOO for sponsorship of the Annual
Legislative Barbecue to be held February 4, 1999. (Funded by "Commission
Other" Account)
5. Approve purchase of two (2) banners at $1,465.00 each from Augusta Canvas
Products, Inc.
