PRESENT: Hons. Johnson, Garrett, Mason, Frantom, B. Williams, Scott, McKnight, D. Williams, Hasan, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission. ABSENT: Hon. Clarke, member of Augusta Richmond County Commission. Mr. Mayor: The Chair recognizes Attorney Brown. 1. LEGAL MEETING A. Pending and potential litigation B. Real estate C. Personnel Mr. Brown: Good morning, Mayor and Commissioners. We request a motion to go into executive session for the discussion of personnel, real estate, and pending and potential litigation. th Mr. Mayor: Commissioner from the 8. Mr. Garrett: So move. Mr. B. Williams: Second. Mr. Mayor: Voting. Mr. Frantom, Ms. McKnight, and Ms. Scott out. Motion carries 6-0. \[EXECUTIVE SESSION\] Mr. B. Williams: Are you ready? Mr. Brown: Yes, sir. Mr. B. Williams: Going to the Attorney. 2. Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with Georgia’s Open Meeting Act. Mr. Brown: Mayor Pro Tem, Commissioners, we request a motion to execute the closed meeting affidavit. 1 Mr. Frantom: So moved. Mr. Garrett: Second. Mr. B. Williams: Voting. Motion carries 9-0. Mr. B. Williams: Mr. Attorney. Mr. Brown: Yes, sir, we have several motions, Mayor Pro Tem. A motion to adopt a Resolution authorizing the settlement of all claims of Dequan Kelly in the aggregate amount of $9,500 payable as follows: Lawton Law Office LLC and Dequan Kelly, further authorizing the Administrator to disburse this amount, waiving Augusta Code of Ordinances and any other sections in conflict therewith in this instance only and for other purposes. Mr. Hasan: So move. Mr. Mason: Second. Mr. B. Williams: Voting. Motion carries 9-0. Mr. B. Williams: Mr. Attorney. Mr. Brown: Yes, sir, thank you. We request a motion to adopt a Resolution authorizing the settlement of all claims by Wesley M. Stallings in the aggregate amount of $100,000 payable as follows: Brian S. Hawkins, Hawk Law Firm on behalf of Wesley Stallings, further authorizing the Administrator to disburse the amount of $100,000, waiving Augusta Georgia Code of Ordinances and sections in conflict therewith for this instance only and for other purposes. Mr. Hasan: So move. Mr. D. Williams: Second. Mr. B. Williams: Voting. Motion carries 9-0. Mr. B. Williams: Mr. Attorney. Mr. Brown: Thank you, sir. We request a motion to approve a lease between Augusta, Georgia and the State Property Commission for the property located at 520 Fenwick Street, Augusta, Georgia. 2 Mr. Hasan: So move. Mr. D. Williams: Second. Mr. B. Williams: Voting. Motion carries 9-0. Mr. B. Williams: Mr. Attorney. Mr. Brown: Yes, thank you, sir. We request a motion to rescind the previous appointment of Dr. Hameed Malik as Director of Environmental Services and to approve the appointment of Dr. Malik as Interim Director of Environmental Services effective May 1, 2022 with a salary increase of 15% and to further task Dr. Malik to immediately begin to develop and to bring back an Environmental Service Department operation improvement plan on the May 31, 2022 Engineering Services Committee.
