Bob Young, Mayor; Bridges, Chairman; Cheek, Co-Chairman; Colclough and Mays, members; Jim Wall, Attorney; Randy Oliver, Administrator; Max Hicks, Utilities Dept. Director; Drew Goins, Asst. Director ofP.W. - Engineering Division; Hameed Malik, Environmental Engineer; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission. Also Present: Sylvia Cooper of The Augusta Chronicle, Stacey Eidson of The Metropolitan Spirit and HODS. H. Brigham and J. Brigham, Commissioners. The Clerk: We have a request to add two items to the agenda. Mr. Colclough: I so move. Mr. Cheek: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. I A request to approve Stephen E. Joseph & Sages, Inc. proposal for evaluation of groundwater quality & landfill gas impact and assessment of groundwater monitoring program at the Deans Bridge Road Landfill for a fee not to exceed $21,360.00 funded by Landfill Account #541-044210/5212115, was read. Mr. Colclough: I so move. Mr. Cheek: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. The Committee next heard a presentation of Augusta Utilities Customer Services Accounts Receivable Second Ouarter 2000 Reoort. Mr. Cheek: I move we receive it as information. Mr. Mays: I'll second it. Motion adopted unanimously. A request to approve the surveying and engineering services by James G. Swift & Associates for the design of water main relocation associated with the Highway 56 GDOT Project (S39,130.00 is available in Account No. 507043410- 5212115/89800110-5212115), was read. I Mr. Cheek: I move to approve. Mr. Colclough: Second. I Motion adopted unanimously. A request for approval of a change order in the amount of $506,730.00 for tunneling and blasting services under 1-20 to install the required 30-inch sewer trunk replacement. Funds are available in Account No. 508043420-5425210. Change order is associated with the S-2B Rae's Creek Sewer Replacement Project (Bid Item #99-108), was read. After a short discussion, Mr. Cheek: A motion to approve. Mr. Colclough: Second. Motion adopted unanimously. A request to approve condemnation of 0.114 acres for permanent easement and 0.169 acres of temporary construction easement against Dorothy M. Wall for sanitary sewer line, was read. A request to approve condemnation of 0.158 acres for permanent easement and 0.237 acres of temporary construction easement against Mathew Gay for sanitary sewer line, was read. After a short discussion, Mr. Mays: I move that we postpone these until the next Committee meeting. I Mr. Colclough: Second. Motion adopted unanimously.
