CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER
September 11, 2006
Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 12:00 Noon, Monday, September
11, 2006, the Honorable Marion Williams, Mayor Pro Tem, presiding.
PRESENT: Hons. Holland, Smith, Hatney, Beard, Cheek, Bowles and Brigham,
members of Augusta Richmond County Commission.
ABSENT: Hons. Deke Copenhaver, Mayor; Grantham, member of Augusta Richmond
County Commission.
Also Present: Steve Shepard, Attorney; Fred Russell, Administrator; Lena Bonner, Clerk
of Commission.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Williams.

Mr. Smith: I so move that we go into legal meeting.
Mr. Holland: Second.
Mr. Cheek out.
Motion carries 7-0.
[LEGAL MEETING]
At the close of the legal meeting the meeting was reopened to the public.
Motion to authorize the Mayor Pro Tem to execute the affidavit of compliance with
Georgia’s Open Meeting Act.
Mr. Cheek: So move.
Ms. Beard: Second.
Motion carries 8-0.
Mr. Shepard: I’d ask that you consider three add on agenda items related to
declarations of taking of property to support the acquisition of property from the various
owners involved at the site of the new East Central Library. Those properties would be
842 Greene Street, 412 Ninth Street and 848 Greene Street.
Mr. Cheek: I so move to add and approve.
Mr. Holland: Second.
Motion carries 8-0.
