Mr. Sherman: Our auditor conducted an audit of Days Inn in August and he found the exise tax for the room sales were inaccurately reported for a three year period and the taxes therefore were inaccurately paid. They actually owe the city $73,914 including interest and penalties. We have agreed to let them pay it over a nine-month period with 12% interest on the unpaid balance. He has paid two payments and Mr. Wall drew up the payment agreement and recommended that we bring it to you to approve it. I Mr. Mayor: I would ask that you incorporate in the motion if you agree to accept this that a copy of the audit and the payment agreement be forwarded to the State Revenue Commission. Mr. Williams expressed his concern ,that this should have been brought forth before any payments were accepted. After further discussion, Mr. Mays: I so move that we approve the agreement with the amendment as outlined by the Mayor. Mr. Grantham: I second. After further discussion, the motion was adopted unanimously. 2.
