I. Approve an Ordinance providing for the demolition of certain unsafe and
uninhabitable properties in the Turpin Hill Neighborhood: 2106 Grand
Boulevard, (District I, Super District 9); Laney-Walker Neighborhood: 1249-
1251 Eleventh Street, 1012 Spruce Street, (District I, Super District 9); Olde
Town Neighborhood: 120 Walker Street, (District I, Super District 9), and waive
2nd reading.
2. Discuss strategic planning retreat for the Commission on September 26 and
September 27,2003.
3. Update from the Attorney regarding amendment of the Administrator's contract.

PRESENT: Hons. Beard, Chairman; Kuhlke, Co-Chairman; Hankerson, member;
Jim Wall, Attorney; George Kolb, Administrator; Rob Sherman, License & Inspections
Director; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission.
ABSENT: Hons. Bob Young, Mayor and Cheek, member.
Also Present: Stacey Eidson of The Metro Spirit, other members of the news
media and Hon. Williams, Commissioner.
1. Approve an Ordinance providing for the demolition of certain unsafe and
uninhabitable properties in the Turpin Hill Neighborhood: 2106 Grand
Boulevard, (District 1, Super District 9); Laney-Walker Neighborhood:
1249-1251 Eleventh Street, 1012 Spruce Street, (District 1, Super District 9);
Olde Town Neighborhood: 120 Walker Street, (District 1, Super District 9),
and waive 2nd reading.
Mr. Kuhlke: So move.
Mr. Hankerson: Second.

Motion adopted unanimously.

Discuss strategic planning retreat for the Commission on September 26 and
September 27, 2003.
Mr. Kuhlke: I'd like to make a motion that we set the dates of September 26 and
27 for our retreat and authorize the Administrator to hire the consultant to come in to be
the facilitator.
Mr. Hankerson: I second that motion.
Motion adopted unanimously.
(Mr. Kuhlke excuses himself from the meeting)
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
