Administrator; Donna Williams, Interim Comptroller; Keven Mack, HND Director; Jerry
Saul, Tax Commissioner; Lena Bonner, Clerk of Co=ission.
Also Present: George Eskola ofWJBF Television, Heidi Coryell of The Augusta
Chronicle, Stacey Eidson of The Metropolitan Spirit and Hons. Beard, J. Brigham and
Colclough, Commissioners.
1. Approve a Tier #1 Fa~ade Grant Application for 429 Walker Street in the
amount of $5,000 and 511 Courthouse Lane in the amount of $4,000.
Mr. Kuhlke: I so move.
Mr. Cheek: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
2.
Approve the reprogramming Of $200,000 in Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) from ANIC to the Apple Valley Park Project.

3. Motion to approve reclassification of positions in the Tax Commissioner's
Office.
Mr. Kuhlke: I so move.
Mr. Cheek: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
4. Discussion ofFIeet Policy for Augusta Richmond County. (Requested hy
Commissioner Williams)
Mr. Beard: I make the motion that the Fleet Manager and the Administrator work
together with whoever is interested in this to explain the process in place.

5.
Consideration of a "Hardship" discount for the Solid Waste Collection
Service Districts, effective 2002. (Requested by Commissioner J. Brigham)

Motion adopted unanimously.
Mr. Wall: Under the school tax and the disability you're talking about by
specific authorization coming through the General Assembly and the constitutional
amendment, you would not be able to give any kind of hardship discount on garbage
service. There's no way legally that you can do that.
Mr. Kolb: I would not recommend any changes at this point until we get some
experience with this under our belts.
Mr. Cheek: I move that we receive this as information.
Mr. Beard: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
6.
Approve Laney Walker Development Corporation (L WDC) plan for the
construction of 5,000 sq. ft. of retail space and enter into a contract
designating L WDC as developer.
Mr. Kuhlke: I so move.

7. Approve request from Augusta Richmond County Weed and Seed Initiative
for five (5) computer donations from Housing & Neighborhood Development.
Mr. Cheek: I so move.
Mr. Kuhlke: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
