COMMITTEE ROOM - January 25, 2000
2:30 P. M.
PRESENT: Hons. Bob Young, Mayor; H. Brigham, Chairman; Kuhlke, Co-
Chairman; Beard and Cheek, members; Randy Oliver, Administrator; Jim Wall,
Attorney; Walter Hornsby, Deputy Administrator; Keven Mack, HND Administrator;
Lena Bonner, Clerk of Commission and Nancy Morawski, Deputy Clerk of Commission.
Also Present: Stacey Eidson of The Metropolitan Spirit, Eileen Rivers of The
Augusta Focus and Hons. Bridges, Colclough, Mays and J. Brigham, Commissioners.
The Clerk: We have a request to add one item to the agenda.
Mr. Beard: I so move.
Mr. Cheek: Second.
Motion adopted unanimously.
A request for the 1998/1999 Home CHDO set aside be reallocated to Laney
Walker Development Corporation from Miracle Making Ministries, Inc., was read.

Mr. Oliver: These funds will be reallocated to Laney Walker for construction of
homes.
Mr. Beard: I have been concerned about Housing and Neighborhood
Development coming up with some plans for housing construction for quite some time. I
believe that someone needs to be held accountable for beginning the work that needs to
be done. And I move that we accept this.
Mr. Cheek: Second.
After further discussion, the motion was adopted unanimously.
A request to approve excess coverage through Republic Western Specialty
Underwriters, Inc. at a cost of $73,727 for two-year period from January 31, 2000 to
January 30, 2002, was read.
Mr. Oliver: This is a standard renewal of our Workers Compo
Mr. Kuhlke: Shouldn't the cost be $76,790 with the additional rider?
Mr. Oliver: Yes, that's correct. It should be $76,790.

Mr. Kuhlke: I move it be approved with that change.

Motion adopted unanimously.
