CALLED MEETING COMMISSION CHAMBER
July 1, 2021
Augusta Richmond County Commission convened at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021,
the Honorable Hardie Davis, Jr., Mayor, presiding.
PRESENT: Hons. B. Williams, Garrett, Sias, Johnson, Frantom, Scott, McKnight, D.
Williams, Hasan and Clarke, members of Augusta Richmond County Commission.
Mr. Mayor: Good morning. We’ll call this meeting to order. I hope everybody is having
a very happy Thursday and this is the day the Lord has made. We will be rejoiceful and glad in it.
The Chair recognizes Attorney Brown.
1. LEGAL MEETING
A. Pending and potential litigation
B. Real estate
C. Personnel
Mr. Brown: Good afternoon, Mr. Mayor, Commissioners. We request a meeting,
we request a motion to go into executive session for the discussion of litigation, personnel and
real estate.

Mr. Mayor: The Chair recognizes the commissioner from the 7.
Mr. Frantom: So moved.
Mr. Sias: Second.
Mr. Mayor: Voting.
Motion carries 10-0.

Mr. Mayor: All right, we’ll reconvene. The Chair recognizes Attorney Brown for the
reading of a motion.
2. Motion to authorize execution by the Mayor of the affidavit of compliance with
Georgia’s Open Meeting Act.
Mr. Brown: Mr. Mayor and Commission, we would request a motion to execute the
closed meeting affidavit.
Mr. Sias: So move.
Mr. Frantom: Second.

Mr. Mayor: Commissioner from the 4 and the 7. Voting.
Motion carries 10-0.
Mr. Mayor: The Chair recognizes Attorney Brown for the reading of a motion.
Mr. Brown: Mr. Mayor, we request a motion to transfer/remove $50,000 from the
budget of Parks and Recreation Special Event Fund, Account # 101-06-1489-5311810 adding
it to the Administrator’s Office budget to fund an Intergovernmental Agreement with the
Coliseum Authority for Federal Government Affairs Services for Augusta, Georgia.

Mr. Garrett: Second.
Mr. Mayor: Voting.
Motion carries 10-0.
Mr. Mayor: Attorney Brown, is there any other matter before us for this special called
meeting?
Mr. Brown: No, sir, there is not.
Mr. Mayor: Thank you. The meeting is adjourned.
