Motion made by Vice-Chairperson Denice Traina for approval of the minutes. Seconded by Member Gaylon Tootle - no opposes. Motion passed. Reports Denise Mulkey We are currently back down to four Rural buses because of issues we had this morning. We are trying to get vehicles back in order so we can operate at full capacity. Gaylon Tootle Are the drivers required to do reports at the end of their routes nightly? There is concern regarding maintenance issues at night. Operations Manager Thaddeus Davenport The Maintenance Department is required to check the buses that come in and they are checked in the mornings before the operators leave. Buses are checked for missing lug nuts, body of the vehicle, doors, wipers, etc. Gaylon Requesting maintenance manager be a part of these meetings due to the number of issues concerning maintenance. Denice Who is the person over the maintenance manager? Thaddeus Mr. Mack Denice Since he is over that person, he should be able to address any questions pertaining to that department. Terence We will table this for today and have further discussions on our next meeting. Member Charles Cummings Is there a plan in place to replace buses? This is another issue to be discussed in the upcoming year. Meeting Minutes Template (v1.0) Page 2 of 4 Transit Citizens Advisory CommitteeDate 12-19-19 Terence The Fixed Route fleet is operating on three new buses. The others are old and unsafe. Further discussions are needed. Gaylon The Ft. Gordon issue has been resolved with our buses being able to get onto the base. In addition, kudos to Denise for getting patrons picked up in front of the group home instead of the end of the road in the Windsor Spring Rd. area. The area was unsafe with construction going on and we are pleased this concern has been resolved. Udomekong Udoko There are seventeen new shelters and the benches are on the way. Terence Thank you to all of the departments for their part in making this committee successful during my time as Chairman of TCAC. Elections Portia Stith The floor is now open for nominations for the Chairman of . Charles - Nominates Denice Traina as Chairman of TCAC. Gaylon Motion seconded. Portia Are there any other nominations from the floor? Gaylon Moves that nominations be closed. Unanimous vote in favor of Denice Trains being Chairperson of TCAC. Nominations turned over to Chairperson Traina for the election of Vice-Chairman. Charles - Nominates Gaylon Tootle for the position of Vice-Chairman of TCAC. Terence Motion seconded. Denice Hearing no other nominations for Vice-Chair; unanimous vote in favor of Gaylon Tootle as Vice- Chairman of TCAC. Terence - Congratulations to our newly elected officials. It is my hope that Denice receive the same level of support that I have received from this committee. Denice We will be taking advice on how to move forward. Gaylon Very passionate about Augusta Public Transit and willing to do what it takes of get better service for our people. Denice What is the schedule for our next meeting? Portia The regular schedule will resume, January 23, 2020. Guest Mrs. Williams Thank you for listening to and working on our concerns. Gaylon There has to be more transparency in transit. The experience on the Fixed Route and Rural buses should be the same. Terence Issues should not be left at the table. Contact your elected officials with concerns. Gaylon We look forward to working with each department to help bring about change.
