AGENDA
Chairman Terence Dicks called meeting to order. Motion made by Member
Charles Cummings for approval of the minutes. Seconded by Member Gaylon
Tootle - no opposes. Motion passed.
Reports GM Mike Roth There has not been time to get with the City of
Augustas IT department regarding the online application.
Vice-Chairperson Denice Traina Are applications available if someone walks
through the door here or if they call in they are mailed?
Chairman Dicks What are these applications? I am asking on behalf of the
guests who may not know.
Mike Applications are for Paratransit or Rural services. If we send application
out the person has 21 days to return the application. We review it. (Denise and
her team) A meet and greet is arranged and they are scheduled to get the
applicant started on the services.
Member Gaylon Tootle What is the process for ADA?
Mike- The process is the same.
Denice The application is very detailed and the doctor has to sign off on that
application.
Mike The doctor does not sign the application, but will sign certifying the
disability. This form is included with the application.

Denice - There is concern that the doctor is signing off on the form saying there is
a disability. Why is that not enough for Public Transit? Consumers are
uncomfortable divulging detailed information regarding their physical or mental
limitations.
Mike We will review it.
Oliver Page With the electronic application, the consumer will still have to have
physically get this form to their doctor and completed by their doctor. The online
application process will not be fully electronic. Could the doctor email the form
to us?
Mike We will look into the specifics on ADA.
Gaylon Is part of riding Paratransit, ADA, or Rural is that you have to have a
medical disability to ride?
Mike Yes.
Gaylon There is an online application for ADA, it is not up-to-date.
Sharifa Sylvan There is an application that you can download and fill out. It
cannot be completed online.
Charles This should be forwarded on to legal to see if the information asked on
the application crosses the line.
Terence We just want to get clarity on the procedures so that we as a body will
know how to proceed and what is needed.
Gaylon The process for ADA and Paratransit should be the same across the
board. The online application for Rural has been the same with no progress made.
Terence We will keep this at the forefront and ask for periodic updates.

whether Jaguar Transit Express is subsidized by SPLOST funds or
City of Augusta general funds. Seconded by Gaylon Tootle no
opposes. Motion passed.
A handout regarding Bus Rapid Transit made available for
